|
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport’s, Dept. of
Aviation seeks a proven development Chief Financial Officer who is
action oriented and can leverage the substantial resources,
energy, partnerships, and the overwhelming commitment that exists
throughout the Department of Aviation. The CFO will direct and
oversee all the financial activities of the Department of Aviation
and all of its divisions and to establish a clear vision and sense
of mission for the organization.
Duties include, but are not limited to: leading and motivating a
group of professionals with primary responsibility for revenue
generation, financial management of the books and records of the
Department as an enterprise fund of the City of Atlanta;
monitoring the organizational climate to insure productive,
modern, collaborative, and motivating environment; and
establishing and implementing management systems and principals
that inspire a high level of individual, team and corporate
excellence; financial analysis and Performa revenue and expense
forecasts; marketing, leasing and day-to-day management of airport
properties; Provide oversight and counsel on financial matters,
analyze and lower costs to improve business results, collaborate
with senior management peers and operating managers to maximize
financial performance, and provide feedback and advice to the
General Manager concerning financial implications of various
projects; Participate in the development of the Department’s
strategic plan and meet or exceed plan; closely monitor all fiscal
activities and compliance with applicable federal, state and local
requirements, including those related to budget conformance,
maintenance, and audit-ability of financial records. |

Typical Qualifications: |
|
Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Public
Administration, Accounting, Finance or closely related field;
Master’s degree is preferred; broad exposure to governmental
accounting principles and practices; CPA/CMA/CFM desirable; Five
(5) to Ten (10) years of demonstrated success in a leadership role
and progressively responsible financial and administrative
management experience. Six (6) years progressively responsible
experience in non-tax supported financing of public facilities;
airport experience highly desirable. Supervisory skills are
required. |

Candidate must have a strong ability to communicate accurately and
understandably, verbally and in writing, all information
pertaining to the financial, business and administrative
activities of the Department of Aviation. Someone who places a
high premium on people and who is a superior leader, manager, and
team-builder with a proven track record of managing an
organization to high standards for performance and customer
service; Demonstrated ability to serve as a successful participant
on the executive management team that provides company leadership
and direction. Plan, implement and coordinate a wide variety of
programs; Make public presentations and explain technical data to
non-technical audiences. Thorough knowledge of general management
principles and practices regarding financial, human resource,
organizational climate, inspirational leadership, productivity and
trend analysis; Thorough knowledge of public funds investment and
cash management, and structure and workings of the public finance
market; Serve the public and fellow employees with honesty and
integrity in full accord with the letter and spirit of the City of
Atlanta’s Ethics policy; and Establish and maintain effective
working relationships with the general public, co-workers, elected
and appointed officials and members of diverse cultural
backgrounds; |
