Description:
This is a two-part
workshop series on natural channel design and will take place over two
non-consecutive weeks. The workshop will provide participants with an
introduction to the principles of fluvial geomorphology, the Rosgen
classification system, and natural channel design. An emphasis will be
placed on suitable approaches to stream restoration to meet the requirements
of the US Army Corps of Engineers Savannah District for 404 mitigation. A
special section on management of GDOT stream mitigation projects will be
included. Three field days will be included to give attendees hand-on
experience in channel classification and collection of geomorphic field
data.
