Who is ACEC/G?

The American Council of Engineering Companies of Georgia (formerly American Consulting Engineers Council of Georgia) was formed in 1956 as a non-profit, voluntary, self-governing organization, incorporated under the laws of the State of Georgia to advance the profession of consulting engineers in private practice. ACEC/G is a member of the national American Council of Engineering Companies headquartered in Washington D.C. Member firms of ACEC/G have as their principal business the practice of consulting engineering, environmental, technical, and management services. They maintain permanent offices in the State of Georgia, staffed by qualified and registered engineers.

There are approximately 300 members with total employment in Georgia of more than 9,000 people. In 1997, the Council expanded to include associate membership. Associate member firms provide professional services of a scientific or technical nature which are complementary to the services provided by member firms.

Our Strategic Goals for 2007-2010:

  • Advocate for Legislation, Regulation and Policies that Promote and Protect the Business Interests of ACEC/G Members
  • Sustain, Enhance and Expand Membership in ACEC/G
  • Increase Effectiveness of The Georgia Engineering Alliance in Meeting ACEC/G Goals

We look forward to your support and participation as we strive to achieve our goals and to strengthen both our organization and the consulting engineering industry as a whole.

The ACEC/G Vision Statement
