Special Liaisons and Task Forces:

Editorial Board of the Georgia Engineer Magazine:

The Georgia Engineer magazine is published six times per year by the Georgia Engineering Alliance and in cooperation with a private publishing firm, a4 Inc. The magazine serves four engineering associations and is intended to be the external voice of engineering in Georgia. ACEC/G has two seats on the editorial board, which controls content of the magazine.

Georgia Engineers Week Committee:

Numerous engineering associations collaborate in organizing the annual Engineers Week Celebration for the metro Atlanta area. Activities include community and student outreach, awards, publicity and the banquet. ACEC/G needs 3-4 active members to help organize and execute this grand celebration of our profession.

Corps/ACEC/AIA Liaison Committee:

A regional liaison committee meets 3-4 times per year. The committee is composed of representatives from the Corps Division Office, five Districts, and the ACEC and AIA organizations in the Southeast. Other events are 3-4 working groups and a regional conference in April 2002.

Georgia AGC/ACEC/AIA Liaison Committee:

This liaison committee was created to coordinate and facilitate communication and understanding among architects, engineers and contractors. These professions are part of the larger "construction industry," with amply common ground for partnering. Meetings occur 4-5 times per year with an agenda driven by the group. Initial tasks focus on local government permitting problems/delays and joint efforts in the "Canstruction" program that results in charitable donations of food.
