City Engineer

Winder is a family town of nearly 20,000 residents, bustling with growth and opportunity just outside the metro-Atlanta area. Located in the heart of Barrow County, GA and close to the City of Athens and the legendary University of Georgia. The City is known for a blend of historic and modern downtown structures combined with a thriving retail and restaurant base; excellent schools and proximity to superb institutions of higher learning; convenient access to an interstate highway system (I-85 corridor and SR 316) and a stable and long serving group of elected officials. The City Engineer is a new position for the City of Winder. The City requires an experienced engineer to fill this role. Primarily, the City Engineer will be managing capital projects in the areas of Transportation, Utilities, Stormwater, and Parks. The City Engineer will also be handling the review of land disturbance permits and other elements of the development process (both on private and public property). The City Engineer will provide expert advice to the city staff and will manage third party engineering contracts. The City welcomes candidates with both municipal experience as well as a strictly private sector background who have a heart for public service. This position requires a P.E certification.
