• Message from the Chair

  • I am honored to serve as ACEC Georgia’s new Chair for the 2015-2016 fiscal year. I would like to give a special thank you to our incoming and outgoing Board members, and specifically recognize our 2014-2015 Chairman, Darrell Rochester, for his service and dedication to this organization.

Under my leadership, ACEC Georgia’s value proposition will continue to center around Political and Legislative Advocacy, Business Development and best practices for Firm Operations. Our Board of Directors and staff are committed to only undertaking initiatives that fall within these principles and ensuring that our members receive significant benefit from their investment in our organization.

In addition, it is our goal to continue to address the important issues that face our industry and help keep it moving forward in the right direction. There is an old adage: “if you are not at the table, you are on the menu.” I believe that our industry and organization do have choices, and that we’re able to shape our future. We do not want to be found in a position where we have to accept a situation simply because “it is what it is” or has always been.

To accomplish this takes time, involvement and passion. So, I ask for your support. We need your participation, interest and ideas that will help grow both our organization and strengthen the engineering industry in Georgia. I encourage you to become involved in ACEC Georgia by attending our programs or joining one of our industry-specific Forums. Let your voice be heard by becoming engaged with what we’re doing. You’ll find it to be a rewarding experience – and may even have some fun in the process.

On behalf of our entire Board, I look forward to another successful year advocating on behalf of the business of engineering in Georgia and hope you will join us.
