    Building Georgia Legislative Day
ACEC Georgia held its 16th annual Building Georgia Legislative Day on Tuesday, February 11, in partnership with the Associated General Contractors of Georgia (AGC). The sold-out event, keynoted by Senator Steve Gooch, was attended by more than 130 legislators, engineering professionals and contractors. If you missed this opportunity to network or meet legislators, join us for the Legislative Edition of Thirsty Third Thursday, our (almost) monthly networking event, next week.

    Practice Area Forums
In order to better serve our membership, we are in the process of establishing forums specific to the top engineering disciplines. These groups are designed to give ACEC Georgia members the opportunity to meet peers, share industry concerns and work toward solutions. In addition to the Transportation Forum, which has been a long-running success, we've recently created three similiar forums focused on Emerging Leaders, Geotechnical and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise. Now we're ready to launch six more -

    • Building Systems (MEP)
    • Energy
    • Executive Roundtable
    • Land Development
    • Structural
    • Water/Environmental

    - and we need your input and participation. Contact Jennifer Head for more information or to get involved.

    Legislative Update
ACEC Georgia continues to play a leading role in discussions surrounding HB 170, "The Transportation Funding Act of 2015," as well as legislature focused on reforming the engineer professional licensure and descipline, and public-private partnerships for vertical structures (SB 59).
