Brett Hillesheim
Director of Communication
Brett Hillesheim serves as the Director of Communication for ACEC Georgia. In this role, Brett oversees the organization’s strategic communications, branding, publications, media relations, and digital content, including Engineering Georgia magazine, social media, and promotional campaigns for major events like the Georgia Engineering Awards and Georgia Transportation Summit.
Brett brings more than 20 years of professional experience as a writer, editor, and creative strategist. Prior to joining ACEC Georgia, Brett served as the Director of Marketing for Wellroot Family Services and Editor-in-Chief of multiple publications. His work spans brand development, multimedia storytelling, and public engagement,.
Brett is also an author and creator in the independent publishing world. He writes middle-grade fantasy books and serves as the host of a podcast focused on storytelling and creativity. His diverse creative background brings a unique narrative lens to ACEC Georgia’s communications efforts, helping to connect engineering work with human impact.
Brett earned his Master's of Nonprofit Management from Regis University. He and his wife, Summer, live in Gwinnett County with their seven children. When he’s not writing or cheering on his kids at swim meets, Brett enjoys graphic novels, fantasy stories, and strong coffee.
