Scholarships for Student Employees of ACEC Georgia Firms

ACEC Georgia awards scholarships to worthy students enrolled in engineering schools in Georgia through the R. Berl Elder Memorial Scholarship Trust. In the last few years the scholarship has been given to students who are an employee of an ACEC Georgia member firm and who are interested in a career in consulting engineering.

Eligibility

Scholarships will be awarded to the most qualified student(s) from a pool of applicants. To be eligible, the student must satisfy the following requirements:

  • Must be in his/her freshman, sophomore or junior year of college
  • Enrolled in an ABET accredited engineering or engineering technology curriculum at a college or university in Georgia
  • Currently employed by, or have been employed by, a member firm of ACEC Georgia during the 12-month period preceding the deadline for receipt of the scholarship application. Employment at a member firm includes students in a "co-op" program, as well as those that arrange their own full-time (e.g., full-time summer job) or part-time (e.g., afternoon work several days a week) employment
  • Preference is given to a student who is interested in a career in consulting engineering

The application process opens in the early summer of each year, and selection of scholarship recipients is in conjunction with other Georgia Engineering Foundation scholarships.
