ACEC Georgia and the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) have a formal written partnering agreement known as the Georgia Partnership for Transit Excellence (GPTE). The work of the GPTE Partnership is done under the auspices of the ACEC Georgia Transit Forum and its committees and subcommittees.

Employees of ACEC Georgia member firms and supporting members who are involved in the transit space are encouraged to serve on one of the subcommittees under the Georgia Partnership for Transit Excellence (GPTE) Consultant Relations Committee (CRC).

Consultant Relations Committee

This Consultant Relations Committee is tasked with improving the working relationships between MARTA and its consultants. The Committee has four subcommittees:

Program Delivery Subcommittee

Steering Committee Liaisons: Grady Smith / Darien Sykes
MARTA Representation from Capital Program Delivery

This subcommittee will address business elements related to Program Delivery at MARTA. Potential topics include process improvements and efficiencies, such as the smooth transition of projects from planning to design, and handoff of projects from MARTA to consultants. The subcommittee members will work together to identify bottlenecks, highlight best practices, discuss delivery methods, and conduct outreach to the construction and contracting industry.

Contracts & Procurement Subcommittee

This subcommittee will focus on contracting and procurement related topics including the pre-and post-contract audit process, accessibility to the contracting manual, streamlining negotiations, diversity and inclusion, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), and process improvements such as contracting bottlenecks and other opportunities to improve access to doing business with MARTA.

Specifications and Standards Subcommittee

Steering Committee Liaison – Dean Collins
MARTA Representation from Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance

This subcommittee will focus on the development of a clearinghouse of standard specifications and approved products applicable to design and implementation at MARTA. Potential topics include identification of gaps to address, streamlining availability/accessibility of design standards and applicable / adopted codes.

Training and Capacity Building Subcommittee

Steering Committee Liaisons: Tim Brown & Al Edwards
MARTA Representation from EEO, Diversity & Inclusion

This subcommittee will focus on identifying workforce training needs, based on feedback from MARTA staff and the consulting community. The subcommittee will assist in bringing trainings to the consultant community and MARTA staff on both internal and external processes and skills as identified. This will include DBE specific outreach, training, and workforce development.
