ACEC Georgia members are invited to join fellow structural engineering leaders for this Structural Forum, chaired by Jim Case of Uzun + Case, LLC.
Mindy Toole, Managing Partner at T. Wayne Owens & Associates (which is solely focused on providing services to architecture and engineering firms), will speak on Tax and Planning Strategies for Architecture and Engineering Firms.
The new Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA), which took effect at the beginning of this year, covered a wide range of taxes, largely focused on taxes for businesses. The new law permanently established a flat 21% corporate income tax rate, which also applies to personal service corporations (PSCs), but rates remained higher for individual taxpayers - problematic for sole proprietors and owners of pass-through businesses, such as S Corporations and Partnerships. The workaround created by Congress, the new 199A deduction, has special rules just for A/E firms. Join us for a discussion around these rules, while there is still time to adjust for 2018.
