WHAT IS INTRODUCE A GIRL TO ENGINEERING?

Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day is a half-day program sponsored by the engineering community to introduce girls to engineering through fun projects and activities. This year's event includes:
  • Engineering booths with activities
  • Engineering team trivia bowl with great prizes
  • A program for parents on preparing your daughter for an engineering education
  • Lunch
  • Tour of KSU's Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology

WHO:
Upper elementary (K4-5) and middle school age girls who are interested in STEM!

COST:
$5 per person
Registration includes all event activities as well as a boxed lunch. Please register all members of your family who will be attending.

ABOUT KEYNOTE SPEAKER ANGELA FANNEY:
Angela has led site civil consulting services for a variety of project types, including sports facilities, office, retail, multifamily, and mixed-use developments. Her role on the project team typically involves designing creative and sustainable solutions as well as navigating through multiple jurisdictions and stakeholders during the entitlement and permitting process. Angela’s energy comes from working within a multidisciplinary team to solve complex problems on-time and on-budget. Her practice is focused on the urban environment with specialization in redevelopment and infill projects. Angela served as project manager on the recently completed and highly acclaimed Atlanta Falcons’ Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Recognized by ENR Southeast as one of the region’s 2017 Top Young Professionals, Angela graduated from the NAIOP Future Leaders program in 2013 and was selected as NAIOP’s Volunteer of the Year in 2012. She also serves on NAIOP’s Government Affairs Committee, the City of Atlanta Office of Buildings Technical Advisory Committee, and the Council for Quality Growth. She is an active member of ULI, providing leadership in several areas, including the Atlanta Sporting Clay Committee (founding member), the Executive Committee for the Center for Leadership, and the Public Private Partnership – Gold Flight National Product Council.

Angela received her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Civil Engineering from Auburn University and remains a proud Tiger, sitting on the College of Engineering Young Alumni Advisory Council and Civil Engineering Advisory Board. She is a Professional Engineer in Georgia and a LEED Accredited Professional.

In January, she and her husband welcomed a baby boy to their family, joining his toddler sister and three teenaged siblings.
